My paintings seem to find me. Most of my work is based on subjects and settings that make me draw a breath and say, “I must paint that." I continually look for wonder, movement, beauty and meaning in the rare as well as the commonplace. Sonoma County is a constant source of inspiration. The colors, the seasons, the natural beauty and the people here are often the subjects of my paintings. My creative process is a love affair with my paints, brushes and canvas. What I love best is capturing the essence of my subjects and landscapes and seeing them develop into a finished piece of art. My paintings have won awards and have been on exhibit throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and in private collections in the US, Europe and Asia. I live in Sonoma, California with my husband Russell, a fine writer, photographer and filmmaker. I truly hope that if you are reading this you are moved by my work and it will bring you joy. I have had the enormous honor of being selected Sonoma Treasure Artist 2022 by the City of Sonoma Cultural and Fine Arts Commission, a distinction I will treasure the rest of my life.
