Pat Meier-Johnson Slice of Life Artist My paintings find me. I come across a setting or a situation and say, “I simply must paint that.” As a native of northern California with a passion for travel, Pat collects the color, light, and spirit of places she visits around the world. Most of Pat’s works capture a slice of life and a sense of place: “I believe that art must come from the heart and what moves me can move others, whether the subject is the wonder of a California landscape, the hustle of New Yorkers, sparkling Lake Tahoe distance swimmers, or a night out at the Jalisco Taco Stand in Sonoma.” Pat lives in Sonoma, California with her photographer/author husband, Russell Johnson. Pat is a graduate of Kantonschule Aarau, Switzerland, and an honors Graduate San Francisco State University Pat Meier-Johnson has also studied with narrative painter Chester Arnold, colorist Carol Smith Myer, Disney Imagineer George Scribner, California painter Tim Horn, and photographer, Joe Baraban.
