Raindrops on Petals
Painting: Acrylic paint on "joint compound" layered onto insulation board for texture.

I'm always seeking new materials to "play" with (I'm a retired high school art teacher)....that are cheap. I've hung onto this inclination ( habit) in my own art. The insulation material is not only cheap, but it's sturdy and light. And I like the look of the texture the plaster gives to the painting. I primarily work with acrylic paint because it's fast drying and I can act on my impulses immediately and paint faster! (Could also be a hangover from teaching art to both middle and high school students) never a dull moment.
