We are thrilled to have Biotic Ferments back at Beerfest! What is Biotic Ferments, you ask? Run by brothers, Adam and Ryan Johnston, Biotic Ferments is a family-owned Social Purpose Corporation and Certified B Corp. That means they legally exist to do more than make a profit. They believe that human health and ecological health are inextricably linked and that bolstering human health is foundational to increasing the collective problem-solving capacity required to address the social and environmental issues of our time. Their fermentory is located in Petaluma, California.
What is kvass? Hint: it’s not kombucha! Beet kvass (say it: kah-voss) is a traditional fermented beverage made from sliced beets that has provided daily gut health support to Eastern Europeans for centuries, including the Johnston brother’s Polish ancestors. They love beets, but they know that beets aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so they expanded the expression of kvass in fun new ways using carrots plus cold-pressed juices. Now they can invite more people to the probiotic party!
Why reach for Biotic kvass over kombucha? 50% less Total Sugar — all from fruits and veggies; clean crisp taste — no strong vinegar bite; no caffeine, alcohol or yeast; and less acidic and more gentle on the digestive system.
Stop by their booth at Beerfest – and do your microbiome a favor! Supporting the health of your gut is one of the most powerful ways to increase your overall well-being.
