We are deeply saddened by the recent loss of two local high school students, 16-year-old Gia Walsh, of Santa Rosa High School, and 18-year-old Logan Camp, of Montgomery High School, due to suspected fentanyl overdoses. Our hearts go out to their families, friends, and the entire community during this incredibly difficult time.
This devastating event emphasizes the urgent need for increased awareness and education about fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that has been linked to a significant rise in overdose deaths. In 2024 alone, fentanyl claimed 49 lives in Sonoma County.
At Face to Face, we remain committed to providing compassionate, non-judgmental support to those affected by substance use. Our services include harm reduction education, access to naloxone (the opioid overdose reversal medication) and other tools for opioid overdose prevention, as well as connections to treatment resources. We believe that through community collaboration and open dialogue, we can work together to prevent further tragedies and support individuals on their path to recovery
When loving kindness meets practical care, no one has to go it alone
