Through my art I voice my love of nature, what touches me emotionally and, in some cases, my response to social issues. My sculpture has evolved from expressions of pain to an appreciation of the beauty, complexity and interrelationships of all life and nature – including all forms of anatomy, organisms and elements – as they are truly all one. While organic in form, a common theme in much of my sculpture focuses on relationships, both human and other. I believe art should not only inspire and inform but also heal. The last ten years I have also developed a line of concrete garden art and more recently I have begun working with soft pastels, primarily landscapes, exploring expressions through color and mark making.
