September 21st is National Opioid and Substance Awareness Day.
Did you know? Drug overdoses are the leading cause of injury-related death in the United States, with 81.4% of overdose deaths in 2023 involving at least one opioid.
In Sonoma County, the overdose crisis continues to impact friends, family members, and loved ones in our community. On average there are around 121 accidental overdose deaths per year in Sonoma County, and with the last two years seeing a 40% increase.
At Face to Face, we know that barriers put people’s individual health and the health of our community at continued risk. That’s why we supply our Sonoma County community with free tools for overdose prevention and education. This includes tools like naloxone, for opioid overdose reversal; fentanyl and xylazine test strips; safer use supplies; and educational training and materials.
Because when we lead with love, no one has to go it alone
