Council on Aging – Meals on Wheels

For seniors. Sonoma County except Petaluma and Penngrove. For seniors 60+ who are homebound and unable to drive. You may receive Meals on Wheels, regardless of age, if you are the spouse/partner of a 60+ senior who is receiving meals or are a person with a disability living with the 60+ home-bound senior.

Financial Assistance for Groceries

CalFresh (SNAP, Food Stamps)

CalFresh is a nutrition program that helps people buy food. If eligible, you will receive a debit card that can be used at most grocery stores, online, and at most farmers markets.

A member of Catholic Charities staff visits Face to Face regularly (check calendar) to help clients with CalFresh applications.

WIC – Women, Infants, and Children

Nutrition program for women, infants, and children. You may be eligible if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a child under 5 (including foster children and fathers or grandparents raising children.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

For seniors. Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging connects limited-income seniors with coupon booklets to buy fresh produce at farmers markets. Limited number of booklets released on a first come, first serve basis (usually in late May/early June)

California Food Assistance Program (CFAP)

For non-citizens who do not quality for CalFresh benefits. To be eligible, non-citizens must currently be ineligible for CalFresh solely due to their immigration status. Uses the same application as CalFresh.

SUN Bucks – For Children

SUN Bucks provides $40 per month for food for June, July, and August for children ages 0-22. Most children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals will qualify and may already be automatically enrolled.
