Native born Santa Rosan James Zimmerman was a celebrated Sonoma County artist. He studied art at Santa Rosa High School, continuing at SRJC and then at California College of Arts and Crafts. He was influenced by three local artists, Lloyd Wasmuth, Maurice Lapp and Elizabeth Quant. His impressionistic-styled paintings of Sonoma County won many awards. Generously donated by his sister Pam Zimmerman.
