Rosa Schuth is a native California artist whose work expresses the culmination of her lifetime of passionate investigation into the transmission of light. As a graphic artist, she evolved a whacky interpreted reality that plays out in the whimsy and originality of her glass beads. In her early work in painting and hand-tinted photography as well as art direction in design and film she developed a rigorous sense of design and voluptuous knowledge of beauty. Her training began with a BFA from CA State University, Humboldt. Later after some extensive international traveling she studied commercial art and production design at UCLA. She then studied lampworking at Pilchuck School of Glass in Washington State (co-founded by Dale Chihuly), with the late Kisao Iburi of Japan. Combining her talents she has created her studio pieces and sold to over 25 major museums and many galleries throughout the US. She lives here in Sonoma County and has enjoyed contributed to Art for Life for the last 27 years.
