Marguerite Brennan is a recent transplant from the east coast and now resides in Sebastopol, CA. Her passions for clay and animals began as a young child in the rural countryside of McHenry, Illinois where her family had parakeets, dogs, cats, horses, chickens, ducks, geese and fish. The animal theme is an ongoing motif in her work. Marguerite studied at Philadelphia College of Art/University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA where she received a BFA in Ceramics in1980. She also studied ceramics at San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and the Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design, Los Angeles, CA to further enhance her studies of the primitive folk art themes and modern glazing techniques. Until 2017, she had maintained her home studio in Summit, NJ for almost 30 years, where she continued to study and teach ceramics and exhibit her work. Marguerite’s work hasbeen exhibited and sold extensively in the US and Canada.
