Always having an interest in the arts, I began my personal journey as a young adult taking watercolor classes, honing my skills, showing and selling and eventually teaching classes. At the same time, I was exploring the medium of pastels and was instantly drawn to their lush and tactile quality. Today, working mostly in pastel, I am inspired by the beauty in the ordinary, moments in time, objects, people, and the scenery around me, I strive to capture the spark…. that bright spot of color, shadow, or composition that best conveys the excitement and spirit that initially caught my attention. For me, pastels are the perfect medium to speak my artist’s voice and convey a visual story. My hope is that through my art, the viewer will see with new eyes and a new appreciation, the world around them. I am a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast, The Pastel Society of America and the International Association of Pastel Societies; and I am a partner at The Graton Gallery. And I participate in Sonoma County Art Trails demonstrating and selling my art.
