Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that is most often cause by a virus. Viral hepatitis is caused by 5 main viruses, and in the United States, the most common are Hepatitis A, B, and C. All forms of viral hepatitis are preventable and treatable, but only hepatitis A and C are curable.
Viral hepatitis can present without symptoms, particularly in cases of hepatitis B and C. This is why testing and prevention our key to reducing the risk of harm from viral hepatitis.
