Tags: COPHRI is California’s Overdose Prevention & Harm Reduction Initiative. COPHRI aims to reduce overdose by: making naloxone available to more Californians, delivering naloxone to the people most likely to use it, and by funding staff to help people access treatment and other services.
COPHRI funds 72 organizations to give naloxone to those most at risk of an overdose. Despite accounting for only 1% of the state organizations who received naloxone, COPHRI-funded programs reported nearly 50% of overdose reversals.
In Sonoma County, CDPH reports that Face to Face’s naloxone distribution accounted for 66% of the overdose reversals reported—demonstrating the impact of supporting populations who need it most.
