In these difficult times it is especially important to take care of each other- and also to take care of ourselves. Making and donating art is one of my ways. Artist Statement: I paint because I have to. I observe. I express. I keep trying… It is how I relate and interact with the world these days. I hope to notice and express beauty and my truth. I paint the outside world, landscape, still life, and figures, abstractly and expressively. I explore colors, shapes, marks - and play (and struggle at times) between plans and responses. Once in a great while, just often enough, something might come together - and come alive. And once in a while this is seen and appreciated. And this is so profoundly satisfying that I keep going…and keep changing…I mostly paint in oils, although sometimes in acrylics and watercolors, and I enjoy monoprints and mixed media as well.
